Stiff/sticky clutch pedal???

Stiff/sticky clutch pedal???
On my way home from work yesterday i noticed that when my clutch is pressed about 90% of the way in the pedal becomes stiff and "sticky" It is kind of hard to explain but i have never experienced this before. The throw out bering has been shot for a while and I will be replaceing the clutch and flywheel soon. Does anyone know if this is just normal signs of wear and tear??
