Why are people so damn shocked that the **** smokes? Its pure petroleum. That's what it does. Oil smokes when it burs right? So what do you think 100% petroleum is going to do? Anyway, as far as its effects, I'm not really sure. It would be nice if someone actually took appart an old engine, took some pics, put it back together, ran seafoam through it, took it back apart, and took some more pictures. That's really the only way i'd be impressed enough to use it.

Matt
Way too much effort for a can that costs $5. Of course it could be doing damage to the engine and know one would really know.

At the jiffylube chain of stores we have a fuel injection system cleaning that sounds just like the seafoam, its an injector cleaner in the gas tank then another chemical that gets sucked in thorough the pcv valve line (what connects to the valve itself) or the vacuum line from the brake booster. It is guarenteed mpg increase... sounds like basically the same stuff

someone had posted this in another section of the forum and a guy said Seafoam leaves more carbon then it takes out...and he owned a store that sold it, he said he tested it in a dish or somthing.

but i think you're supposto use 2 bottles: 1 in tank, 1/2 in oil, 1/2 in... brake boost line, i think. prolly where the guy was pointing to, in the above pic.

My stang would kinda lose power if i really got up on it in the curves and i put a can of that in it is still in my gas tank but it has helped alot for me. Also i havent seen much smoke

i have used it numerous times in my car and never had any problems with it. feels like the car is a lil more peppy after all the smoke clears out.

I'll be running it through my car tomorrow for the first time. I don't have any great expectations really, just that I have a 77,000 mile car that has never had much done to it other than oil changes, so I figure I'll give it a chance to clean it out a little. For $5 it can't hurt.
