aren't the 99-04's SN-95's also, i always thought "new edge" was just a widely used nickname cause usually where i always look the SN-95 is 94-04, with the exception of the different looks and performance of the later 99-04.

The better driver will win. But if he's an auto, I'll put my money on you. I'm stock and I've raced a modded one before. It was an autonatic with a shift kit, exhaust and air filter. I won, but it was pretty damn close. We raced twice and I didn't beat him by more than a car

Yes, 99-04's are still technically SN95, and you are correct, "New Edge" is a commonly referred nickname for 99-04's.

i believe early LT1's were rated at 275 hp, and late 285. however they were actually a litte underrated in power and where putting out 305 hp, at least according to the guys at camaroz28.com

i've seen LT1's run 13.9 to 14.5.

driver's race.

Not really, saying that is like saying that they are technically the same as the foxbody.

The 1999 Mustang marked the official 35th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, and it also marked the beginning of new era with yet another redesign. While the prior generation, the SN95, successfully completed the task of getting the Mustang back atop the pony car market, the performance car market was swelling up around the Mustang, with entries from not only domestic automakers, but now from Japanese entries. So, when the 1999 Mustang debuted, called the "New Edge" it put an emphasis on improving styling as well as performance, and the sharp new lines and increases horsepower did just that. While the New Edge was not a huge redesign in comparison to that which was seen when moving from the Mustang II to the Fox Body or the change seen in the Fox Body to the SN95, but the change was significant enough to be considered a full redesign.
