RE: rattling noise
mine does something like then but only when i accelerate and the rpms are around 4-5500k sounds almost like a grinding/really bad gear spin noise. and when im at idel, dont know if its the shifter/clutch but it ratles alittle. Have no idea what it is. Any 1 have any ideas??

RE: rattling noise
ahh why do you ask if its a Steeda shifter????
I have that same problem--sounds like a rattling/vibrating noise when I hit the gas in any gear between 2-3K RPM
My car-- 2003 Mach 1 w/ Steeda shifter and SLP LM1 catback

RE: rattling noise
When you hear this noise again quickly push in the E-Brake button. My button rattles somehow usually whne im cruising in 5th and go to accelerate. its annoying as hell. All I do is push the button in a couple times and it stops.

RE: rattling noise
My Steeda makes a lot of noise only in 5th and only when I accelerate. After the car warms up, the noise goes away. Weird. I wrote to Steeda. Below is their response. When it makes noise, it sounds like someone dropping a handful of BB's a little at a time into a empty coffee can.
Mike, as our Steeda Tri-Ax Shifters are drastically more solid, more positive and use no rubber or plastic components, internal transmission gear noise that is always present even in a new trans. will be amplified and transmitted through the shifter. This seems to quiet down after warming up as fluids are flowing better and the internals expand to take up cold clearances. The reason for the 5th gear only condition is that in 5th there is less load applied to the 5th/reverse cluster and as you tip in & out of throttle as small as an operation as it is, will cause a slack in that assembly and therefore noise! It is not a concern more so than an annoyance. We do have a Shift Isolator Kit # 555-7096 @ $7.95 that will lessen these effects if need be. Let me know if we can be of further help. This information will also tell you how smart the Ford Dealer Tech's are!!!
I invested in the isolator kit. Still hear it....
