What does modular mean?
What does modular mean?
Block and heads are interchangible. Meaning you can take a 2v block and build 4v or 3v out of it. Thats in theory.
What it really means is the new over head cam design, OHC. As compared to the old I-Beam blocks with push rod design. OHC engines produce more torque and rev higher, that also means more power. They are superior to I-Beam design, however as we know from practice they are a pain to modify, especially pain in the wallet. OHC design is more efficient, and because of lack of push rods, it is capable to deliver more precise timing at higher rpm, lack of push rods also eliminates parasitic losses. Any given OHC engine will produce more torque and thus power than a comparable I-Beam design engine.
