Default Gauges?

When starting my car up my guages are going all the way to the max and then coming back and reseting to its proper place. Why is it doing this? Its only doing it sometimes now but it wasn't doing it before. Is there something wrong?

you're battery is shorting your ecu, resetting it everytime right as she cranks. replace the battery to fix.

Resetting it everytime it cranks? So if I had my programmer on it would it reset that off and just be a stock tune?

that is a problem that you want to get fixed. if it is shorting you could be right in the center of a hard corner and bam, everyting go's out.

They are definitley tight. The ones on it when I got the car were all corroded so I got some gold plated terminals and put them on. They are extremely tight so we had to smash them down with a hammer to cover the battery properly. No damage done, I assume the battery is just going, cause it just now started and there would be no reason for a short.

Yeh check the terminals made sure they are installed correctly onto the cables and battery. Replace your battery if it continues.

Ok thanks. But would my programmer be gone if it resets the ecu or is it stored some how?

I thought The gages and warning lights did a self test when you started the car?
Look in your owners manual.
