Not sure about the stock block, but the VT Engines Forged Shortblock I got can handle up to 700hp.
I believe Edlebrock has a carbureted version intake coming out also. I know they're working on a new modular intake for the 4.6 though. Victor Jr. SOHC 4.6 intake.

Thanx for the replies fellas, Im learnin a lot about the 4.6. Seems to be a pretty good motor. I think I moght have to build one. Oh yeah heres the link for the carbed 4.6 intake
