Default 87mm MAF???????

Ok so I just got a Professional Flow Technologies 87 MM Mass Air Flow for my aunt's 96 gt. It is calibrated for the stock 19 lb/ hr injectors. These are the orange topped ones right? Ok so i put it on, along with her cold air intake(lol), and i started the car up. It ran like shi# for about 10 seconds, up and down idle, and wanting to die, although it didn't and I never touched the gas. I drove it and it ran ok, but when i let off the gas it has more of a drone than a poping sound now, is this right . if not what is wrong. Does it NEED a dyno tune, or will this MAF work with the stock computer?

Why did you change the MAF? These 4.6's don't gain power like the 5.0's do by swapping the MAF's and "tricking" the car...Unless you are supercharged the stock MAF is fine.

Whoa, no the reason I changed it is because I got it off of a buddy down in Dallas for hers + $25 bucks, he didn't even want that but I couldn't take it for free. No, I got all the sensors back in, there is only it, the air temp sensor, and two vacumes on the intake. Everything is lined up, and I don't think I have any leaks anywhere....in fact I know I don't. Yeah, it is also a chrome piece which looks alot better with her CAI.

did you touch the IAC in anyway... if you messed with it or took it off it could be malfunctioning.. thats one reason it could be idling like trash.
