Default New to the 4.6 Mustang.

Hi everyone. I recently bought an 03 GT, 4.6 2V, Auto. Lookin to put that Saleen Supercharger IV Kit on it? What else do I need to do besides the kit (MAF, Fuel pump, ignition)? Any little tricks that can be done without buying anything? What's the best boltons for the buck?

Thanks for any info,

Mike

Best bolt on is a supercharger. Plain and simple. If you want power a supercharger or turbo is the only way to go. Go to www.modularpowerhouse.com and check out thier great kits. They give you EVERYTHING to make it work.

Welcome to the 4.6 world. I too have an auto '03 GT. A very popular upgrade to our cars, and seems to be one of the best bang for the buck, is gears (3.73, 3.90, 4.10). Forced induction will of course give the most power. Instead of the Saleen, I would suggest the mongoose kit from MPH.

Some things to do without buying anything is removing the air silencer (best w/ a K&N filter) and removing the front sway bar (if you are a straight line guy). You can also take out your spare tire and jack to lose a little weight.

Also, since your an auto, you can look into the J-Mod if you feel comfortable doing something like that.

Another good idea would be getting a torque converter. These can really drop 1/4 times for autos. Also get a tranny cooler to address the extra heat of the torque converter. I believe 2500-3200 stalls are common on street cars. You can do research to see what you think fits your style.
