All the joking aside, this is a Safety Issue. I had something similar (not airbags) with my wifes car. The first people I called was the U.S. Dept. of Transportation and they were very helpful, got the issue fixed in about a week so give them a try, good luck.

All the joking aside, this is a Safety Issue. I had something similar (not airbags) with my wifes car. The first people I called was the U.S. Dept. of Transportation and they were very helpful, got the issue fixed in about a week so give them a try, good luck.

This is basically what I did but it's not as easy as you think... you will loose horn and cruise control buttons..(which can be just relocated into the dash with some creative thinking), but not just an easy swap.
