Default Noise from rear.

so I have been having this problem for awhile. I am noticing a noise coming from what seems to be the rear of the car. I really notice it when im on the interstate and im next to the median....kind of echos off the median. So I can really hear it when the car is in gear and im coasting down a hill. Its like the noise in in sequence to the rotation of the tires. The faster the tires rotate the quicker the noise gets. Its like something is kind of rubbing but I really notice it when its in gear.

I took the car to the shop (I have a warranty on it) they fixed the tranny and said that the noise was normal. Thing is I never heard the noise when I first got the car and then all the sudden I hear it. Any Ideas what this noise could be??

Thanks

I have the same sound, I was on my way to eugine and it started. I have been assuming that it's my gears and plan on having them replaced. just rolling the dice.

Probably your bearings... I picked up a 2000 GT this summer that was making a noise like that. New gears and all new bearings made the noise go away. If you don't already have gears, this is the best time to do it since you're opening up the differential anyway.

Need to explain the sound/pitch of the noise. Could be anything from a u-joint to your rear gears.
