You only have the PI heads and your putting that much to the wheels?

yes, the cobras have higher compression pistons. the PI's have 52CC chambers if i remember correctly. i believe the cobras is something like 58. been a while since i've seen the #'s.

So then on the NA Cobras would that mean they have higher compression pistons then?
Whats the chamber volume on the PI SOHC heads vs the NA Cobra DOHC heads?

I am refering to the comment about "in your case it is CAM"
Not sure what you are talking about. I am refering to jumping down Jdaniels throat about something he was right about.
Seriously, why is everyone on here out to attempt to disprove people? If someone makes a mistake fine, but point it out politely. And make sure you know WTF you are talking about.

I do know I'm talking about with this...I don't CLAIM to know everything. I was pointing out something to JD, him and I talk...we have or disagreements, so do 2000si and I...we all do, but who is jumping down who's throat?
What the hell did I do to you anyway? Except be nice???

well, i have full bolt ons, the heads are ported and of course the cams. and a good SCT tune. with 24# injectors, and a cooler day, i would have made 310 or so.
quarterhorse, i have not ran it in the 1/4 mile yet. with sub 2.0 60's, i should run in the 12.8 range. guys with full suspension and slicks are running as low as high 11's in the 300 hp range with 2V N/A's.

OK... To sum it all up you will be spending a good bit of money to get a 98 4.6 GT up to 300 hp.
You need to first off do the PI head swap and PI intake manifold swap. That will put you even or a little over the 99+ GT's.
Then do the exhaust... Long tubes, good X mid pipe, and straight through catback such as Magnaflows. Get some underdrives, adjust timing to 16 degrees advanced, good cold air intake such as Densecharger, then grab a set of stage 1 cams and you will be at or a little over 300 hp. After cams are installed I would get a good dyno tune.
Like I said before, I have just about all the bolt on's I can get and I dyno'd at 276 rwhp and 325 rwtq. All it would take me is a set of cams and I will probably be running about 315 hp im guessing.
Let us know what you do.

16 degrees advanced timing is alot! JD What octane fuel do you run to get away with that? Did you go up a degree at a time and listen for pings?I never tried over 14 but every 2 degrees seems to help alot.
