Don't even try welding a lug nut.. In fact, if you break something metal, of that nature and tensile strength, welding it will make matters worse..

Problem is, because of the caliper mounting bracket, I believe you need to pull the axles to swap lugs.. This can be a major PITA if you've never done it before, but it's really not that hard.. If it was the front, I'd just tell you to get a new wheel bearing/hub unit, save yourself the hassle..

LOL No def dont weld it. You pull your tire off and then the rotor. Im not sure on a mustang but the lugs are put in threw the back of the axel plate (i think) you knock it out and put a new one in. Ive never done it but it will only cost you the lug itself so it cant be much.

left rear right ? pull the caliper and rotor off and see if you can get to the inslde of the lugs and if not you need to pull the c clip out opf the rear and pull the axel out and beat it out then insert the correct size and length lug bolt put a wrench around the lug for spacing then put the lugnut on and impact that biotch on there till she seats then unscrew the lugnut and take the wrench off the lug and your done its a 10 min job im pretty sure

It's a little bit more than a 10 minute job, since you have to replace the cover to the diff and fill it again.. I'd say it shouldn't take more than an hour w/ a good set of tools..

No problem.. It's this type of thing that people become frustrated w/.. Most people take things at face value, so you tell them an hour job takes 10 minutes, and a half hour into it, they're back on this board, complaining, bitching and freaking out, wondering why they feel so inept at life...

You also failed to mention that you need to remove the pin in the center section, so you can even get at the C-Clip.. Not to mention, it's not quite as easy as just sliding the axles over.. At least it's never been that way for me...
