Here is my 12 second stang:

Mach 1

Steeda Tri-Axe
BBK Longtubes, O/R X pipe
C&L MAF

no engine work needed!
Do you have a 12 sec. time slip or are you just assuming?

you no what is sad is i have maybe 1200 bucks in my car and its a 12 sec mustang, and what is worse with my mph im faster then JayC. Currently with 15 inch stock tires i ran 13.4 @ 107.43 MPH. Matter of fact the heads i have are iron head GT40P truck headsand can be considerd stock type.So with some tires it should easily run 12.6 or 12.7 ! So if you want a fast car for cheap and daily driver dude go 5.0 . Sorry 4.6 guys!! Also a Mach 1 can run 12s with exhaust and tires. Even though the one i have seen is a auto and he runs 13.8s @ 102 !

Yes, I've been to the local 1/8 mile once. Best E.T. was 7.59 @ 93.18 mph. My best 1/8 all motor is 8.19 @ 85.24 mph. Should have 1/4 mile times soon

Sorry but you don't have a 12 second car till you have a 12 second time slip. It's a big difference assuming you can run 12's and actually doing it. I do agree that the 5.0 is your cheapest way. I just happened to have a 01 GT whan I decided to go for it.

This is entirely possible provided you run slicks at the strip not street tires. Don't go above 3.73 rear gears with an auto or 4.10's with a stick and make sure you have a good postion traction rear end in the car. Some rear suspension work with new upper and lower control arms will help you get down into the 12's with a decent engine. You also need to loose some dead weight out of the car too, there's lots of stuff you don't really need that can be removed and still have a daily driver. There are too many engine combinations that can do this to discuss them all here. Let's just say a good cam with some heads and intake/throttle body improvements will get you there.
