I have a 98 Cobra and have a good deal on a catback off a 99 GT. The seller says that all you have to do is modify a few hangers to get it to fit. Anyone have any experience with this? Are 98's exhaust different than 96-97's?

It should fit without any problems.The muffler hanger locations are the same between 94 and 04. You will have an extra hanger on the muffler, but you can either cut those off or not even worry about it. For some reason, the 99-04 mufflers have 2 hangers on each muffler. The 98-04 tailpipe hangers are the same, they run parallel with the tip, onthe 94-97's, the tailpipe hanger is perpendicular to the tip. The only problem may be the tailpipe hangeris closer to the tipon the 99-04 (meaning the distance between the tip and the hanger is less on the 99-04's). The tip will still fit under the bumper, but depending on the size of the tip, it may be super close or touch. I fit a 99-04 Mach 1 take-off exhaust onto my old 98, and the tip just barely touched the bumper.
