I recently bought a 2000 GT with lots of engine mods making >500rwhp and showing 12lb boost. Problem is: I can't confirm I have forged lower parts. Probably do since the engine still runs but I need to pull it and look inside. Haven't been able to tell what's in there with a borescope. HOW DO I PULL A 2V 4.6 WITH LONG TUBE BBK'S ON IT? WHAT'S THE TRICK? RAISE IT? LOWER IT? UNBOLT THEM FIRST WHICH REQUIRES RAISING OR LOWERING, ETC.? DOES ANYONE HAVE STEP-BY-STEPS? [sm=helpout.gif]

just take it to a shop and have them rip everything out all in 1 lol

Drop the k-member and you can thentake offthe oil pan andhavea look inside.

OK. I could see the insides better. Never tried to change a crank lying on my back. I guess I could pull a piston and rod from underneath also? Is it reasonably doable if I decide I need to? It's much easier on an engine stand but takes a whooooole lot of work to get it there.

remove the tranny, put the motor on a hoist, drop the k-member, then it should all come out.

If you want to remove any engine part you should probobly pull the motor. I was just offering that as a suggestion just to get a visual of the internals without taking anything out.

I guess I could start there and then decide whether I see something that needs to come out. I suppose the K member would need to come out anyway to pull the engine. Thanks.

man thats a big pain in the ***, cant you just drop the pan and look up in there?
