Should my 4.6 die at 5000 RPM ?
I was playing around doing0 to 60 runs and noticed that if I try to shift hi in the RPM range the motor actually cuts out.
Does the 1998 GT 4.6 have a rev limiter or am I starving for fuel or something ?
It does this in any gear and there is no pinging just suddely hits a wall when it gets to the red line [:-]

The 96-98 2V's are notorious for crappy Intakes and Cams that choke off after 4500rpms...switching to the stock PI parts will add hp and extend your usable RPM range up further.

I think every car after 95 has a rev limiter. So just shift right before redline and you will be fine. But, like these other guys said it probable isn't making much more power over 5000rpms so just shift there.
