I will pretty often shift at 3k as well. I like to drive my stang that way, but anytime I am in some other lesser car, I push it harder. About once a day I will shift at 6800 through the gears, just because I can... and that is the way that I like it... were is my blower?
6800? What kinda car go you have?

I shift about 2.5k normally
6500 at the track.

I have an old 97 cobra (well, two of them)... fuel shut off is 7000... pulls strong all the way through with the 3.73s... A lot of people shift these at 6500, but I get carried away with most everything .

3k from 1-2. 2k for the rest (shifting 2k in 1st makes it bog BAD)

now on the track its 6200 every gear :P
Just depends on how much throttle you give it in second, I am very light on it usually, so 1100 RPM in second gear isn't a problem... Now, 1100 RPM in 5th is, because you can't accelerate without bogging it, which is why I take the 4th-5th shift higher.
