6800? What kinda car go you have?

I shift about 2.5k normally
6500 at the track.

I have an old 97 cobra (well, two of them)... fuel shut off is 7000... pulls strong all the way through with the 3.73s... A lot of people shift these at 6500, but I get carried away with most everything

Just depends on how much throttle you give it in second, I am very light on it usually, so 1100 RPM in second gear isn't a problem... Now, 1100 RPM in 5th is, because you can't accelerate without bogging it, which is why I take the 4th-5th shift higher.
