i have a 96 gt, and my intake cracked so i bought the pi intake on the non pi headsand it fits fine under the hood, no adapter plates were needed and ive put 4-5000 miles since it was done.. i used the non pi gaskets..

the reason mine cracked is because of the dyno runs. if your car can survive the dyno, it can withstand pretty much anything. My intake manifold is off of a 1994 crown vic with 220 thousand miles on it + the 20000 i put on it. its the exact one for NPI just with the aluminum cross over...then 4 weeks later the recall came out!!! grrrr

there is a tube running through the "valley" between the heads that needs to be changed when doing the pi intake swap, this is my understanding, that may have something to do with the problem ?? ill letcha know saturday afternoon (hopefully) more details on the whole deal

ahh that would have been nice a few years ago! lol.

how much do you think this swap is going to cost me assuming i get heads and an intake for 400 dollars. I am going to do all the work myself and I'm trying to figure out everything i am goign to need to buy. what do i do about the intake - head gasket? can i use the ones off of the NPI manifold since it is such a direct swap if they are any good? also, do i have to take the water pump off? trying to save myself the cost of the gasket.

heads and intake : 400
head gaskets : 150 ?
timing chain gasket: 40 ?
what else...?

I am going to clean, port and polish (gasket match), and then swap. if i do the work, what do you guys think it should cost?

First off you can buy a complete head change kit with all Ford Parts including new TTY bolts Head gaskets and a dipstick tube! All for $120 You do not need to replace your timing cover gasket unless you damage it on the removal! You just need a little RTV sealant where it touches the new heads. I have a set of PI heads in really nice shape if your interested. They are '02 pi castings with 42kmi on them. Fully Assembled I can do $350 plus shipping!
