Default Long tubes ???

O.K. since the new engine is going in soon I have decided to go ahead and put headers(longtubes and o/r h) on since this is the best time to do it. But I want to ask what brands are good, does the mil's(if thats right) keep the check engine light off, and if so will I still pass emissions? I live in GA and the only test they do is gas cap and check the computer for codes, they don't put your car on the rollers and run it with the sniffers. Also, will I need a tune and if so how much power are we talking over stock?
Thanks.

I have BBK Longtubes on my car. I am quite satisfied but a pia to isntall. As for you with the engine out it should be a piece of cacke!

I havent had any problems with my check engine light att all. The only thing I noticed was that the Idle went up and down just a little bit. But after the tune the idle was once more stable!

Dont forget to buy o2 extensions.

[align=left]Go with BBK longtube headers and a BBK X pipe. Awesome set up and you will be very satisfied. I have this set up with a magnaflow magna pack cat back system and i got everyone talking bout how my car sounds in school. But when you do get my setup with the heads and x you need to buy TWO (2) sets of o2 sensor extentions...website to get them are... http://rpmoutlet.com/gmo2s.htm get the ones on the right, the extentions 39.99 quatity (2) BECAUSE YOU NEED TWO OF THEM. Good luck and trust me on this...you will love the set up!

with the tune, after that you should notice quite a difference. When you hit 3 grand rpm it feelas like you hit a powerband. Diablo tuner is a good buy and you can get it off ebay for 100 bucks cheaper the retail...i did and it was great. a company continues to sell them so they are always there! if you need the link from ebay just ask me in this forum(ill click notify me via e-mail)

02 simulators work very well. The PCM doesnt have a clue that it is being fooled.

Yes you need the O2 extenders or you can simply cut the harness off about 2 inches away and solder your own wires on(just make sure you wrap heat tape around them so they don't melt! Or they will cost you $29 at Texas Hot Rods. They should come in a PAIR not individually. Not sure what the other guy is talkin about? You wil also want to get the MIL eliminators, THR has them as well for $50 for the PAIR as well. Depending on the mods you have other than Long Tubes you shouldn't need any tune, however if you want the most outta your car then you should always have a tune done! You'll pick-up atleast 10hp with a tune alone if you have enough bolt-ons. Ohh stay away from the X-pipes as they tend to be very raspy. Get a Mac Prochamber. THR has them as well. They are competitevely priced and have great service!
