Default Odd whinning noise?

TOday I went to the chicago auto show (great by the way). And on the way back we had about an hour and a half of stop and go traffic. Right after it broke up, i heard this really weird whinning noise, it sounded like it was coming from the trans, or a belt. Its really hard to tell. It even does it in neutral? It really only does it in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear? ANy ideas? The trans fluid was just replaced not to long ago?

Maybe someone hid their supercharger in your car!

No, but really, probably a throw out bearing, though I don't know how you can say it sounded like it was coming from the transmission or the belt, when they are on exact opposite sides of the engine, so in reality it could be any part of the engine.
