Do I need catalytic converters in TX? I think I do but not completely sure.

You're welcome. I would suggest going catless if you can get away with it. Some shops don't do the visual check. Or take it to a shop and have them hollow out some cat boxes for you to make it appear that you have them. I just barely went catless this week and I am loving it. Or you can possibly swap it out when it comes time to go for your emissions.
