RE: Temperature Gauge
Mine never even gets to the N on NORMAL. I had a 180 degree thermostate in a few months back and went to the dyno. My temp always stayed between N and O on the gauge. When I got to the shop and they hooked it all up the temp was about 215. Now we put a 160 degree thermostate and it never even hits the N anymore. I think alot of mustangs in out years have this problem just a faulty guage or something. Its consistant just doesn't read high enough to be normal. It might also be if you have changed your backing on your guages like putting white face guages on that the last person didn't put the needle back where it is supposed to be.

RE: Temperature Gauge
I'm not sure I just know where my guage sits. If it goes above that then I know that it is running hot for some reason. I don't really think it matters as long as it is consistant. Then you know if your car is running hot or need to be warmed up somemore. I suppose you could have Ford move the needle but I wouldn't. You can move it yourself or just leave it where it is. The guages like that are crap anyways IMO. Just there to let ya know if it is out of normal conditions.

RE: Temperature Gauge
I have a '97 GT as well, and my guage always stays left of the "N" except when I am doing a lot of city driving in the summer, then it stays on the "A", which seems rather warm. Not sure if these guages are accurate at all seeing as how there is no in-between phase.

RE: Temperature Gauge
Ive got a low temp stat, while driving it sits on the "N" or a little to the right of it. It runs perfect and Ive had nothing but good results from it. It should compliment a future FI system well.
