Default Transmission question

I put in my king cobra clutch kit about 5-6 months ago. I enjoy it... but the throwout bearing HAS to go... im pretty sure its already on its way out. My problem is, i beat the trans pretty good, with shifting. Well, now when i have my foot OFF the clutch, it squeeks, like it usually does. Well now when i push in the clutch pedal it makes a horrific noise. Maybe i bent the shift fork, maybe the throwout bearing is just almost ready to say good night. Anything would help. I've tried playing around with my adjustable cable to see if the noise would go away, i've had it all the way to the top and at the bottom to engauge, but nothing changes it. So, what kind of throw out bearing does well. I need somethign heavy duty. I might even go ahead and put a whole new clutch in.

Sounds like it's just your throw-out bearing.

There isn't much you can really do, if it's on it's way out...well you know the drill. Get to work

Yeah, im ripping it out next weekend. It takes me about 3 hours to remove, replace clutch, flywheel and replace. So its not a big deal . I was just wondering if there is a better throw out bearing.

Are you using a hoist when you take your trans out or are you on the floor? It took me all day on the floor. if you have any secrets that would be great.

Three hours to change a clutch??

I would like to know what tools/equipment you are using that you get it done so fast!

About the bearing, i havent heard of anything better then OEM. Maybe the cable was to tight? Because i beat on my 6er everyday and i havent had any probs with my new clutch or bearings and its been in their for about as long as yours.

Well technically anytime you replace your clutch you should also replace the throwout bearing. Too late for that though...lol. Anyway just go to your local auto parts store and get a self-aligning throwout bearing for about $35. That's what it cost me.

To answer youre questions about the 3 hours. Im a ford tech and i do it all the time. Once you do it a couple of times, its pretty easy. I do use a lift at my dealership. I did replace my throw out bearing when i put the new clutch in. But i was wondering if there are any heavy duty tob's out there.

I've never heard of any heavy duty throwout bearings. It's a pretty general part with a very simple purpose, so probably what you get at the auto parts store is about the same as what you'd get anywhere else. Some clutch companies like RAM sell their own brand throwout bearings, but I'm not sure if they are really any better than the others.
