Default Something weird with my 04 GT

Whenever I sit there and it idles, my lights will dim briefly for maybe 2 seconds at most, then come back on to full. When I say lights, I mean headlights. It also does this when I'm just driving around too though. Just randomly does it. Another thing is, sometimes i'll be giving it about 3/4 gas and it'll drop off. It almost feels as though I brought my foot off a bit, but I didn't. I just feel a slight loss of power, but it goes back immediately. Any ideas? Is this normal or should i take it in?

maybe it's the gas i use? i've been using 87, because that's what the manual recommends. should i start using 89 and see if that helps? i hate taking my car in. when they take it and give me a day when i can get it, you multiply that by 2 and that's when i get it back. so if they said 5 days, i'd cry.

Every Mustang does it, it's usually your heat or AC that does it.

My 04-M5 has never done this, even with U/D pulleys. How does the tach behave when this happens? This is not a serious problem however,I owned a Lincoln MK VIII that would do the same thing driving or sitting still,A/C on or off, park or drive. It did this from day 1 untill I traded it.If the tach drops or the power falls off it could be a vacuum leak.Check for incompletly connected hoses or a bad seal in the intake system.Good luck.

I never had that happen in either of my mustangs...sounds like you upgraded your pullies, which you didn't. Take it in, that's what warrenties are for!

i rarely use the A/C in my car. when it's hot, my windows are always down. even when it's cold, i'll turn the heat on really low. just enough to defog my windows. it does this during the day and night. it does it while i'm driving and while i'm idle. doesn't do it a lot, just randomly. sometimes it won't do it for a day, then the next day it'll do it a couple times. i don't even really keep my fog lights on either. i never drive the car hard when it isn't warmed up first. guess i'll give them a ring on monday when they're open. i'd really hate to take it there, the service department where i got it from sucks. the next closest one is about 20 miles away.
