Default 03 GT Sputter

Hello everyone, this is my first post and I'm hoping to get some help. I've poured through several pages of threads before asking my question, so I'm not sure if it's silly to ask. Either way here goes:

My 03 GT sputters in the powerband, between 3500 and 4000 RPM, the car just runs like a dog. It has to be temperature related, because it doesn't seem to do it until it's been running awhile.

My question: I'm not the best mechanic but I want to start tinkering on my own car. I'd like to put new plugs and wires in this weekend to see if it will resolve the sputtering, but I am not sure what to get. Can any of you GT wizards out there suggest the best after market product for plugs and wires. Money is not a concern.

Thanks in advance from Georiga.

Best plugs for performance are just regular ole copper, I prefer NGK's or Autolites. Any check engine light? look into the fuel filter if you have a few miles on it too. I wouldnt know why you'd want COP wires already though.

Thanks for the reply Valdosta. As I've read through the posts it seems that you're one of the guys who really know what theyre talking about.

So copper is the best plug for power, but they only last 10-15K miles (saw that in one of your other posts!).

There is no check engine light, and Ive never replaced the fuel filter (38K miles).

Your last sentence in your reply was "I wouldnt know why you'd want COP wires already though. " Im not sure I understand what you meant by that.

Thanks again, sincerely.

you don't have to call him valdosta, just call him MD. I would check your fuel filter I think that if you had a problem with your spark it wouldn't take so long for it to show up. Also if you have a warranty then bring it to ford. Get as much as you can out of them.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME GETTING PLUG WIRES FOR YOUR CAR BECAUSE, YOU DONT HAVE THEM. CHECK THE FUEL FILTER FOR SURE, EVEN THOUGH IT IS JUST AN '03. YOU ALSO MAY WANT TO CHECK YOUR PLUGS AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE GAPPED PROPERLY BEFORE GETTING 8 NEW ONES.
