Default Springs/Struts Install Question please

Today I installed H&R Supersport springs, Stangsuspension C/C plates and Strange 10 way adjustable Struts and Shocks. My question is on the front Struts...When I removed my stock struts it had the Dust boot and some bushings....the new Struts didnt even come with the shaft nut (old one worked). Now since the strut didnt come with any dust boot or bushings I used 1 bushing and dust boot from old strut. This is the order I installed it, please let me know if something is out of place. From the bottom of the strut going up... 1st I put the old top bushing with upside down into the strut shaft,2nd, I put the dust boot on,3rd, I mounted 2 of the spacers that came with the C/C plates onto the shaft, 4th, shaft went through C/C plate bearing, 5th, another spacer that came with C/C plates and last the strut shaft nut at the top. Now the reason I am asking this is because when I am coming to a stop over small bumps, I here some banging kinda like rubber hitting metal I think. Maybe the dust boot wasnt suppose to go on? Well, any info will be apreciated....BTW the drop looks sweet..will post pics when I get rims and car cleaned next week.

you don't need the dust boot but how you installed it was right and you had the poly bushings on the bottom and the top of the cc correct?

I didn't put the dust boots back on, but I thought my struts came with new nuts/bushings etc .

New struts didnt come with any bushings, rear shocks did. Only bushing I have on front struts is the old Top bushing placed upside down under the dust boot. No bushing on top since the strut shaft has to have metal spacers that tighten up to the C/C plate bearing at the top.
