1st problem with my mustang
Well i'm driving home from work yesterday and I hear this weird clicking sound coming from under the dash. Now driving an 84 rx7 for a daily driver for about 4 years has givin me a great sense of hearing problems with my car. So I instantly know its something electrical. So I start going thru all the electronic features in the car and I tried my right turn signal and that worked fine and then I tried my left turn signal and I found my problem cause the right turn signal stayed on. So I pretty much had to drive 10 more miles home like a 60 year old woman with the turn signal on. So when i got home I looked under the dash and I looked for the fuse but i found what looks like a relay beside the fuse box.
So I'm wondering how hard it is to find this part which I think its a relay, and if its common for mustangs to have electrical problems... This is my 1st mustang so I could be totally wrong but any thoughts or ideas guys or gals?

RE: 1st problem with my mustang
It's difficult to tell without seeing the car, but most likely it's the flasher module.
It's a yellow looking plastic thing under the dash near your right knee.
Turn the hazards on an you should hear it clicking.
It could also be a burned out/shorted bulb.
Lastly it could be your turn stalk switch, but that's unlikely.
Try the hazards/turn signals and see if all the bulbs light.
If one is out, replace that first.
If that doesn't fix it, replace the flasher module, they are cheap and do fail.

Well unfortunatly that wasn't the problem. i replaced the flasher module and sure enough the turn signal started flashing again. I checked all the fuses and i pulled my battery just for shyts and giggles. i'm really at my wits end guys. so im starting to think it might be something alittle more serious. any other thoughts guys?

u might have a short to power when u took the flasher out did the light stop flashing

Do what GrnStang96 suggested and report back.
Also, do your flashers work ok?
You are now getting into an area where you are going to need wiring diagrams.
Do all your directional lights light up correctly? (Aside from the problem you are having).
Have someone look while you are moving the turn stalk.
Brightness the same on all of them?
Try moving the tilt steering wheel up and down and see if the problem goes away.
Wiggle wires and stuff like that, but don't go crazy or you will cause more troubles.

RE: 1st problem with my mustang
well my second guess was right, it was the multi funcion switch. 50 bucks and now everything works just fine.just in case your wondering what the heck is a multi function switch, its what you leveryou use for the turn signal, windsheild wipers, and high beams. It was kinda a pain to take it out but it wasn't that hard of a job.
So if anyone's blinkerturns on and won't turn off this is whereI would start. thanks for all the help guys!!!
