I have the RAI. I love it. It's definitely a clean, quality product. JLT definitely lived up to it's hype with this one. I chose to go with the RAI because it is WAAAAY easier to clean, install, and overall maintain. And you can see when it's getting dirty and needs to be cleaned. Everything IS the opposite with the CAI. Not to speak on it negatively on it though. It's still the same high quality, high performance product. And it will give you a few HP over the RAI. But not a lot at all! But install and maintaining it is a BITCH. You have to hassle it out of the fender wall to clean it, then hassle it back in. With my RAI, all I have to do is loosen two clamps and pop off the filter. It's that easy.

And again, not to speak bad on it because the performance is proven, and I can speak personally on the quality, but installing and maintaining the CAI just takes too much time for some people. One of my close friends has the JLT CAI on his '04 Mystichrom. It looks GOOD! And the color does match the car. But he said he spent about 3 hours wrestling with the intake trying to get it in right. It took me 30 minutes. And I'm not the most mechanically inclined.

Yes remove the airfilter box,
Pull the snorkle out with it ( You'll see it when you start taking the box off.
The filter connects right onto the mass air which then also gets strapped with a clamp to the intake tube.
The kits come with some brackets but the filter does not, so the only down fall is rigging something up to hold the Filter and mass air if needed in some cases its plenty strong to just hang there.

Actually to clean the CAI you just have to remove one screw from the fender lining and get under the car and take that clamp off. Takes maybe two minutes.
