Who has used RP synchromax??
You would have to significantly overfill it (like stuffed full) to damage something from pressure buildup, however the oil level does affect shifting as it can hydraulically restrict the motion of the shift rods and their detents, the forks, and other sliding components--I suspect that the reduced fill amount recommended by Ford and Tremec permits these components to move more freely...

how does a tranny with no pump create too much pressure? like the 3650? Just wondering not sharpshooting are anything.

Well I just picked up 3 qts at NAPA on my way home. According to them it takes 2.83 qts. My manual says the same. So it looks like 3 qts will be enough. (Hopefully)
I would recheck that spec, the 2004 Owner's Manual I have says 7.8 pts. (3.9 qts.; page 217)--the V6 tranny is spec'd for 5.6 pts.which is 2.8 qts.
3.27qts is what has always been quoted me for my T45, and that's what I put in it when I put in my MGW and changed the fluid to Synchromax 2 months ago. There's been a pretty noticeable improvement, and it definitely cleaned up the occasional grinds.
Yeah I just checked and 3 qts wont be enough. I should of checked before I went and bought the stuff. Shows you how much these parts guys know. Now I have to go back for anotherqt. [&:]
