Default Intake spacer

I was told this would be a nice simple mod for my car, what is everyone's opinion on this? Although it isn't very expensive is it really worth it?

any gain for $30 can't be beat. Hell I doubt that you'll see much HP gain with a set of flowmasters but everyone does it.
