irritating squeak
anybody know where the best place for a mustang to start sqeaking is? i was told it might be the suspension bushings but the squeak sounds like its coming from under me. could it a transmission mount bushing? first i would have to say does the tranny mount have a bushing. anyway please help out
I have a 98GT and at 116k the same squeeking started. Its the forward bushing in your lower, rear control-arm (almost under the driver's seat). Easy to fix and cheap. Get entire new bushing and arm assembly from Ford. $55 ea. then bolt them on. Forget Autozone, Advance etc. Their individual bushgs run $20-25 each, then $10-12 to have each pressed-in doesn't make sense. Buy two arms, but replace one at a time so the axle doesn't wander off while you're twisting the wrenches.
Hmmm... weird gettna05!... I have done plenty of MAch1's, GT. With struts that make a nasty groan... creek noise. My 98 had the same strut problem. I'll have to keep that lower control arm in mind.
I've got like 400 places my car squeeks... but I didn't get it to be quiet [&:] passenger window, and the center console rattles alittle when Im around 2000 rpm... well I guess thats not 400 [8D] It doesnt bother me enough to want to fix it though
