Will removing a MAF's vein disturb how it reads the air?
Hey everyone I was wondering if you remove a MAF's vein like in the picture below if it will mess up how it reads the incoming air. Or will it continue to work perfectly?
If not does it have to be tuned with a tuner?
The example below is an 80mm MAF for 24lb injectors.
I heard that there can be turbulance problems when removing the vein and will cause a voltage spike and screw up the AF ratio and that only a professional should do this....

RE: Will removing a MAF's vein disturb how it reads the air?
Its not causing any significant increase in resistance or costing you any horsepower. If it is, the solution is a bigger maf not to try to change your exisiting one. That is to say, the parts inside the maf are not the restriction, the size itself is.

Gotcha, thanks.
The car I am putting this on isnt going to be making big numbers any time soon so it doesnt matter too terribly much.
