if you wanna build a motor from the ground up and put it in a 1996, i suggest a 5.0 they have much more aftermarket parts compared to the 4.6 and the parts are cheaper and easier to find. you can just go to a junkyard, and find a 5.0 for 100 bucks strip it and there you go.

Yeah, I unlike most mustang faithful am a pushrod hater...I don't know if it is my import roots or what but I just do hate them.

all of your electrical will work with the new PI engine, you just have to use your coil packs and fuel rail instead of using the COPs off a 99-04...this way your stock ecu/harness will work perfectly. You will just have to get a dyno tune to take care of the rest.

Yeah, I am thinking of going either vt stage 2's or anderson's N42's on mildly ported heads, a forged bottome end, and a sct or predator tune. Long tubes and bigger tb, A LOT OF GIGGLE JUICE. and 30 lb injectors.
