Default clutch 03

I've got an 03 GT and I was driving down the interstate doing little over 60 I slowed down to about 50 and dropped it into fourth gear and the clutch pedal went limp. Long story short I got it towed to ford dealer and they said the clutch basically came apart, the car's only has 6000 miles on it and I've driven manuals for years. well the dealer is basically sticking me with a $900 bill and i think it's crap... any suggestions.

One Word - Warranty!

That car should be under complete warranty, do not let them try to charge you.

I just bought an 03 a month ago, and I specifically remember them saying that the clutch was *not* covered by the warranty. That being said, and assuming you're telling the truth (*g*), your clutch appears to have been faulty, or maybe installed improperly. Maybe you can find out who the adjusters are for your Ford dealer (sometimes one and the same) and plead your case. Chances are, though, you're stuck. Sucks... I feel for you.

the clutch is under warranty for 12 months or 12,000 miles..900.00? is robbery..go right to the head man...then call ford's hot line to get the ball rolling..sounds like a bad pressure plate

Yes it's long but crazy story

Didn't give them a BJ but the long story include me on the side of the road for 3 hrs waiting for roadside; them not showing up. It was 3 am so I went home and called the dealer first thing in the morning, they gave me the number to the towing service they use. I called them and told them where the car was they said it'd be about an hour and a half and I said I'd either meet them there or leave the keys. So I went and waited for 2 hrs and then left the keys. The next day I called the Dealer to check on my ride, they said there cpu's were down so they couldn't check; the next day I called again and spoke with the service mngr, he said he'd go check on it for me to call back which I did about 2 hrs later. He said my car wasn't even there. I called the highway patrol to see if they had towed it, yes indeed they did. So I called the impound yard only to find out I'd be paying $500 to see my car again. Well I called the original tow company and they told me a load of BS about the key's weren't there then the doors were locked anyway they told me in not so many words to kiss there *** they're not paying for it. I then called the dealer to see if they'd help same answer kiss our asses. I called the dealer again the next day and spoke to the owner, he said they would go down and pay and have it fixed. They had it there the next day, It took them 3 days before they even LOOKED at it, I was there when they did all the guy did was get in, start it up, and try to pull forward, he then got out and said I think its the clutch we'll get to it tomorrow morning; they didn't touch it until the next day at 3:00. well it took 5 days for the ford clutch to come in and another 2 days to put it in. I had to pay them half of the impound fee which was 250 then 950 for the parts and labor. Yes I did call the ford hotline and they said they take the advice from the tech's at the dealer so if they said it's not under warranty then they couldn't help me. I didn't think I could pay the full amount so I asked if they had a payment plan "NO" they said. then 2 days later Big ad in the paper "5% off all repairs and payment plans on all service for military" I'm in the military so I thought I should get my 5% back they told me since they paid half the tow that they could help me with that.
