Default cleaning my MAF

I was thinking of cleaning my MAF. I have the k&n cold air and i've reoiled it a few times so I thought it wouldn't hurt to clean it.
1) Should I use brake cleaner?

2) Should I take apart my cold air and spray right through it or undo the screws on top of the MAF and spray through the top?
Thanks!!

+1 for electric cleaner...

brake clean would be okay if you used the GM brake clean they sell at chevy dealers...its really good stuff that dries really fast and doesnt just lay there like the cheap stuff...but your better off using electronic parts cleaner

If your not having any issues though I see no reason to do it. I have put on several different K&N setups, as well as reoiling them, and I have yet to have a problem. So long as your not drowning the filter in oil (shouldn't be anyway) it should not hurt your MAF.

BTW, you shouldn't be reoiling and cleaning your k&n very often, it takes ALOT of dirt buildup before you are acutally getting any restriction.
