Default IAC mod question

So i purchased a little 2 dollar thing to do the IAC from ebay. I lookded at the write up here and on the included instructions and niether said which hole to enlarge. The revs do drop a tad bit faster but not as much as i like plus when i went on a test drive and got on a her a little my rpms got stuck at 1500 twice. So anyway my understanding is that it does not matter which one but i would rather double check with you guys thanks.

I did both. *shrug* Wait... no, only one actually lines up with anything right? The other was pointless I think... Hmm.. it's been a while, I don't remember.

your only supposed to make one hole. because the IAC valve lines up with only one hole. take at look at the IAC valve and you will see that you only need 1 hole for the gasket.....im guessing Ford just put 2 incase one fails. but anyway mine got stuck at 1500 as well. take it apart and make the hole a little bigger, then go for another run.

The Mach 1 uses both holes I believe.

Thanks for the help guys I took it apart and looked closer and saw that only the right hand side of the plenum actually leads to something. I just got a little ahead of myself thanks for the help anyways.

That's what I thought, there is only the one hole, at least on the GT. So yeah, just do that one and don't worry about the other and you should be good.

So how'd it work out for ya? It's been said but i'll say it again. Small hole goes on the bottom.

I actually did it according to cool-aid's guide but it stalled once while idling. I took it out and replaced it with the stock and I noticed right away what a pos the stock one is. I'm just gonna have to make my hole a little bigger.

I did notice a small differance the revs did drop quicker up until about 1500 then they slowly came down to about 900, it made my flows gargle a bit more and not in a bad way, I did notice the much loder sucking noise but not to bad with the hood shut. So all in all I would do it again and recomend it to anyone, especailly for the 10 mins. of effort it takes.
