Brake Pedal Noise- HELP

Brake Pedal Noise- HELP
I just noticed this for the first time. So when i begin to break, doesnt matter how hard or light i brake, when i put pressure on the brake pedal it makes a grinding noise, only way i could explain it is the noise of dragging plastic something across some rocks and sand. its absolutely horrendous (thank god the stereo conceals it) it hasnt affected the drivabilityor brankingof the vehicle. does anybody have any damn clue wtf this could be?? i changed my brake pads about 4 months ago, never had a brake related problem until this... any help is much appreciated
