3v Swap

3v Swap
I am not planning on doing this right now, but I was thinking about maybe doing it in the future. I have a few questions about it though.
Can I use my stock T-45?
Will the motor bolt right in? I want to avoid custom mounts and other fabricating that I can't do.
All I need is the ECUand motor right?
Thanks

RE: 3v Swap
The engine will bolt in and the transmission will as well. I'm just not sure about exhaust. I don't know if 2v headers would bolt up to those heads and I doubt 3v headers would fit.
You will also need the wiring harness obviously. A lot of people will most likely say why waste your time just do a 4v swap but eh who cares. It's kinda a crap shoot. Depending on what year 4v you buy it's going to be expensive because everything you buy will have to be doubled(cams, valves, springs ect...) so sticking with the sohc isn't that bad of an idea. Just some food for thought.

RE: 3v Swap
the motor mount placement is different, so that would have to be custom fab., the tranny will bolt right up, you'll need a few odds and ends things such as an intake tube and crap. exhaustwise if you use just the exhaust manifolds and hook them up to the midpipe i wouldn't see much of a problem there, but i know one of the few poeple who did the 3v swap said they had Logan Motorsports make exhaust adaptors so it would fit 2v exhaust manifolds/headers.

RE: 3v Swap
i'll be doing hte 4v swap here soon myself and most likely with some guy from SGS automotives(previously kauffmans Motorsports), i'll try and take a good bit of pics and list everything needed, hopefully mods. will make it a sticky, because that is a pretty commonly asked ? around here. 3v swap probably costs about as much as the 4v swap does just because of the custom work and crap

RE: 3v Swap
What are your plans with the car? Unless you want to see 600+ RWhp, swapping out a 2v is simply not cost effective. It would be better to use the money you would spend on the swap for a forged bottom end and a supercharger- you will spend alot less per hp gained than having to swap in a 3v, and then supercharger/ forge said 3v.
