oh no I know for sure its not the alternator. That was just a sideways pic. The first pic is a better one of what I'm trying to show. Its that grey metallic one connected to a pulley to the bottom of the first pic, that thing kinda shakes and I was wondering if that is normal, and the squealing comes from there.

Any other thoughts anyone?
In your top pic, the upper pulley is an idler pulley and the bottom one is your tensioner pulley. The bottom one is supposed to move with it's connecting arm as that is what keeps the tension on your belt. There is a spring in the lower housing of that arm that forces the pulley against the belt. Neither pulley should have much , if any, movement or play in relationship to their axis.

Thank you guys, so if the tensioner pulley seems like its shaking how do I tighten it down. How do I stop the squeal?

anyway I still haven't taken it in anywhere, could it be a dry bearing, or something loose in there?

If it is the tensioner the only practical solution would be replace it

I guess i'm going to replace it. Its the idler pulley. I heard where it was coming from and right when I sprayed some WD40 on it it stopped squealing, so it might be a dry bearing or something. I'm just gonna replace it. I have one question though: I have underdrive pulleys and I'm not sure if the pulley I'm going to replace is stock or not. The previous owner put them on so I dont know which ones came in the kit. Does anyone know if its stock or not? Will this cause problems if I replace just one of the pulleys back to stock? I do know it is smooth, there are no grooves in the one I am replacing and its too the left of the alternator and above the tensioner. Thank you.

If I'm not mistaken, the only pulleys changed in those kits are the crank, water pump, and alternator so feel free to swap out the idler.

Don't worry, the idler pulley is not included with underdrive pulleys.

Hopefully squels will be gone. Good Luck.
