If he is trying to make 550 WHP on all motor he better be swapping in a different engine.

Unless your going to forge the bottom end there isn't any point in getting a custom grind IMO, and the heads are a large waste of money. You can make 280-285 on a boltons/cammed car, but only about 300-310 on a heads/cams/bolton car. A good set of worked heads are going to run you 1300+ not including shipping or install... just not worth it for the extra 15-20 WHP, not including pulling the engine apart etc.

If you want a set of cams, just get a set of VT stage 1s or 2s and be done with it. Unless your ready to stepup to a forged shortblock you won't be able to take advantage (due to RPM limit) of anything more agressive than a stage 2 anyway.

In any case, its not nessicarry to go to a local shop to get a custom grind, places like MPH and I am sure THR can order you a custom grind from shops like comp or VT, usually at no or very little extra cost. your local shop is going to have a hard time getting their hands on cam blanks for a 2v 4.6
