Default Misfire

soo my friend wanted to paint my fender, and like an idiot i let him, it took him 2 weeks and the cai was outside getting weathered, i dont knwo if that had anything to do with it but when i started the car i got check engine light. it was cylinder 8 misfire, i cleared it and still same cylinder came up. i replaced the injector on that cylinder, and made no difference, then i replaced all the spark plug wires.. i replaced spark plugs 20k miles ago, so i didnt think it was that. my last hope is the coil, anyone have advice??? thnaks

Default RE: Misfire

Ifyou friendtook your CAI off or exposed it to the elements,I'm going to assume your friend painted the pass. side fender. The #8 cylinder is the furthest rearward on the drivers side. You stated you changed the wires and havedoubts about your coil(s) so I'll assume you have a 96-98? You can try swapping coils side to side to see if the problem changes banks. If it does you'll get a misfire on the #4 cylinder. Might try swapping the wires around as well. Don't rule out a bad plug on that hole either. Even with only 20k on em'.

Just my thoughts/guess' with the info you gave us.
