Default UH OH! OIL LEAK! WHY?

Its not REALLY that big of a deal, but it does bother me. I'm getting a little pool of oil in the passenger side front valve cover bolt. Nothing drastic, it just fills up that bolt hole every couple of days. Any idea why this could be leaking? The bolt is tight, and it doesnt really look like the gasket is out of place? I'm gonna pull it off and replace the gasket unless you guys have any other ideas.

lol, I know EXACTLY what you mean. My rear main seeps a bit too. I'm sure I burn a bit. AND my intake pulls some oil from the vavle cover, into the bottom of the intake hose every now and then.

I wipe that one bolt clean every coupe of days, but it just keeps coming back. It could be the cap, but Its only in that hole. Nowhere else.

hmm....is there any snail trails coming down from the cap??? i know i had a few once or twice and i pulled the cap off and noticed i had some boogered up oil moisture around the seal...i cleaned it off wit some cleaner but i think it still leaks a small bit

we had my car on the lift for 20 minutes and my rear main wouldnt leak at idle....but theres a decent amount of oil coming from that small slot in the cover under the clutch/flywheel area....but from the track and whatnot it pretty much coats alot....add that and the burning and i get about 600-800 miles and ill have to add a quart haha....oh well....ive since switched to valvoline instead of expensive royal purple lol

i swear im cursed with oil problems!!! ive had fords and chevys and every single vehicle i have ever owned had/has an oiling problem!

I would bet on it being your valve cover gasket. Take it off and reseat it.
