i know what you mean about the plugs, getting dirt down in there. when i change my plugs out, i pull the coils off and use my air compressor to blow all the dirt out of there before i start taking the plugs off. i'm thinking about getting some rubber and cutting it so that it slips around the rubber tubing on the coil, and cutting the outside so that it has a snug fit inside the spark plug hole... to keep dirt from getting in there in the first place (some cars come with this sort of thing from the factory but i guess it didn't come across the Ford engineers' minds). another place dirt likes to collect is around the valve cover bolts, so if you ever take off your valve covers be sure to blow that dirt away too, otherwise you'll end up with dirt all inside your cylinder head, which is worse than getting it inside the combustion chamber (at least the combustion process pushes the dirt out through your exhaust.. if it gets in your oil, it can really mess things up).

do u know if the NGK iradium plugs come gapped right out the box?
i doubt any spark plug is going to come out of the box with the right gap for your application, and if it does then it's probably coincidence. it will be close, but not all engines require the same gap so they usually set it a little tight so that you can open it up with a gapping tool to get it where you need it.

Now that;s funny. I didn't even realize it!

I'm assuming it's fixed considering he hasn't posted anything in this thread for that long!
