Default cams on high milage motor

I want to put cams in my mustang gt. Sooner or later ill end up building a complete motor but i was wondering if its ok to put cams on a motor with 105k miles on it. It stillruns awsome and i havent had any problem with it. Ive changed the oil religously and kept up with everything.I want the lope and performance that you get for them and im going to go with vt stage 1 cams or crower cams. I want to go with the biggest cam i can get without blowing the stock motor.
what you guys think?

what year is your car? your best bet is a VT stage II or a comp cam, you can't go too agressive on a stock motor, but the VT II's will give you a nice lopey idle and be ok on a car with 105K miles.

Its a 2001 mustang gt. the engine has been takin care of really well and im not looking to go to big with the cam on this motor, just maybe like you said stage I or II cams from vt or comp. You say its ok for the stock motor for now. Sooner or later i will take my block or a new one and rebuild the whole thing with forged stroker kit, p+p heads and big cams. Going to keep N/A cause it will be my daily driver and im going to try and get the most hp i can N/A. Just going to be different then all the S/C gt. Maybe a can tweak it to close to 400hp when i build the motor but we will see

you don't want to get a vig cam necessarily, going N/A i would reccomend a custom grind from comp to top off a built N/A motor. the most you'll get out of it is 320-330 with an aftermarket manifold, only a few people have made more, and they have spent good $$ and gone to great lengths. your best bet is a good strong buildup and about 320 to the rear wheels.

cool. well if you go with like a 9.0 compression ratio with forged internals, you will still make about 300 hp and you can add a blower later.
