Default v-6 to v-8

Are the k-members different from the 3.8v-6 to the 4.6 v-8? Alos, is the 4.6 k-member different than the 5.0L Kmember in sn-95's? And would I be able to use a 5 speed out of a 3.8 v-6 sn95 in a 4.6 or 5.0L if I swap the bellhousing?

im going to be getting a 96 v-6 stang and I was wondering what if I need to change that?

3.8 AND 4.6 K members are the same, but 5.0's are different

also a 5.0and 3.8 can use the same bell housing however the 4.6 is a different set up so no it wont fit i also dont think the 4.6 bell housings are removable but i could be wrong!

i did a 1997 v6 to v8 swap. cost 5000.00

just buy a gt and call it a day

engine and trans 1500-2500

rear end 500-800
wiring, computer, fuel system, radiator, brake system ,door lock set up gauges, dash wiring, headlight wiring is all different and had to be made to fit or changed out!

here is my info if your really interested in doing it

The 4.6 bellhousing is removable but it is also the front cover of the tranny on the tr3650, so chances are, unless you have another 3650 in your v-6, you won't be able to use it on any other tranny

Thanx for the replies. It look as though I might just go with the 5.0L for the swap. It would be carbuerated so Im not too worried about pulling harnesses (ill just hardwire in a MSD 6AL), also I dont have to meet any sort of emissions laws where I live so thats not a concern either. As for the 7.5" rear end, Ill just use it till she blows. Theyre good for up to 300rwhp. I already have lots of 5.0L pieces and a spare motor. I also have 17" 94/95 GT rims with tires. And seeing as I can use the trans from the 3.8 Ill just do that, and put all new bearings and synchros in it. And if in '96 the GT used the same brakes as the v-6 that shouldnt be a problem either. Ill just get some upgraded pads.

So it looks as though I would just need a GT 5.0L k-member, GT or Cobra suspension, and retrofit the gas tank to a carbeurated style. That way I can leave everything working (except for the check engine light - have to pull the bulb on that one). Im also planning a bodykit (Saleen) and other exterior mods before I get in to the engine swap.
