How to Window Fix
Well after coming home today in the rain and my window NOT rolling up.....I did a search on this and found little help. Figured I would do a write up on a how to fix your window coming unglued off the track:
1. Take off door panel (pull switch panel off, unscrew two screws where the cover slips into, pull out plastic screw tab, use pliers if needed,on the inside front of door. Push in and lift up carefully, feed switch through doorpanel and place panel out of the way).
2. Peel back thin cover on door panel to show the inside of door assembly
3. Inspect window on front and back to see where the glue/sealant has come undone.
4. Take some pliers and pull off the inner top window squeegee (sp). This will allow you to see the bracket and all to make sure all is well.
5. If you have to get your window up in a hurry (me with no carport/garage and in the rain [:@]) carefully manuever the window up past the front and back guides. The guidesare what is most likely keeping your window from rolling up. BE CAREFUL and take your time so you do not pinch your finger.
6. I have read that RTV is the thing to use but I am going to go the Rearview mirror glue route.....I have had experience with this stuff in the past and this stuff is BRUTALLY adhesive. If that does not work...I will go the RTV route.
Repeat in reverse to get your door back together......
Hope this helps some poor soul out there who is stuck in the rain like me!!!!!! Might be good to add this to the tech stickie hint hint
