Default throw-out bearing

i have MAC LT's on my '00 GT with the T45, and i have a bad throw-out bearing that i need to change, and i was wondering if i could slide the tranny back far enough to get to it? i know when i put my LT's on, i had to drop the k-member, and i really really really really dont want to do that again to pull the passenger side header off to get it out. any suggestions???

by the way, i dont understand how my throw-out bearing went, cause i just put in in less than 1,500 miles ago when i put my lt's, alm. flywheel, and new clutch in......????

I'd say no, because the shaft would have to come all the way out to clear so the bearing could come off. There's only about 1/2 to an 1" of space between the top of tranny to the firewall. I'm not a expert on this or anything but changed a few already and have a few more in my future coming up, but your probably looking at dropping everything again.

I had a similiar issue with the throwout bearing...I had to remove it and while you are looking at it the PILOT BEARING may have taken some damage also...just FYI....

the reason why it prob went is bc ur suppose to lube them really well b4 they go in..if u put it in dry..it will fry...like i packed mine with wheel bearing grease...not a whole lot were it would be messy..but enough to keep it nice n lubed n not have to worry about that...the first time i didnt lube it..had to change it..
