shifting issues at the track

RE: shifting issues at the track
You don't turn into Adrenaline Man at the track do you? Sometimes when people get pumped they pull second toward their right hip instead of their elbow, causing a 1st to 2nd miss. However, it's 3-fold tougher to speed shift 2nd to 3rd versus 1st to 2nd......my guess is, as others have mentioned.....it's atranny problem.

sorry to hijack the thread, but I was wondering if any of the short throw shifters help with the popping out of reverse/grinding or is that just a problem T-45 users have to live with?

RE: shifting issues at the track
I have recently been in a lenghty discussion about missing/grinding gears at the track.
Some believe it CAN BE caused by spinning tires. Let's use the 1-2 shift for instance. You take off too hard at the line, and spin the crap out of the tires. Then you try to shift as fast as possible, but the tires are still spinning. The output shaft isn't slowing down as it normally would, which can cause problems. It's worth thinking about.
WARNING! THE ABOVE IS JUST THEORY. I don't have any proof that says that's gospel. try some sticky tires
