So whats a safe a/f ratio for a car? Like if I were to get a dyno tune..what is the a/f ratio that I should have?

Wherever it makes the most power around the 14:1 range.

14.6:1 at idle to ~3K after the car is warmed up. Above ~3K and at wot, it shouldrichout to around ~12:1 on a n/a car.

12:1 is WAY to rich on a n/a car. You want the a/f ratio around 13.60 to 14.00 on a n/a car.

12:1 is around FI territory (abit lean FI). For reference, I picked up 8 WHP when n/a going from 13.1 to 13.4 a/f ratio (turned off the diablo chip that was causing the car to run rich).

+1 on the fact that they run rich from the factory. just use 87-89 octane gas cause that is what is recomended for or cars from factory. Should get a tuner to fix that.

+1 on this...... My Lightning is tuned into at about 11.8 (to be safe). I am pondering a Diablo for my GT but I cannot bring my self to throw 225.00 at the tuner for about 10-15 horses.
